Wild
Divine
Ohh I am offically in love, well as much as you can with an inanimate
object.
"Journey to the Wild Divine"
had caught my attention a few months back as it promised to offer
a unique interactive experience with your home computer, enabling personal
input to create a meditative state.
Well I was pretty
skeptical not really sure how that was supposed to work... but curious
as ever I had to try.
And I am impressed.
This system works on bio-feedback, meaning I actually connect a device
to the computer that measures my responses and in turn I am able to
manipulate the game. I would not so much call it a game, rather than
a complete sensory meditative experience.
Imagine you are
sitting in front of your computer screen wearing headphones and a couple
of blue measuring sensors attached to your fingers that read your impulses
On the screen is
a beautiful temple with a golden gate, beckoning you to enter
However you are
only able to open the gate with your mind. You need to focus, to relax,
to let go of all external influences and be CALM, totally calm and focussed.
Only then will the gate open
Now this is not
as easy as it sounds.
Imagine me, sitting there getting calm and calmer, breathing slowly,
focussing on my intention. The gate is starting to inch its way forward
, still I am calm , calmer - until I am starting to get aware of how
calm I am getting exited that I am getting calm (giggle) and
swoosh your sensors read your exitement and suddenly I am not so calm
anymore...
Through an inner
relaxed state you move through the levels, engaging in spiritual awareness
activities always maintaining a sense of calm awareness and intention.
The whole program appeals to all my senses, stunning visual graphics
and really soothing , high quality sound effects are making it a complete
experience. I am not irritated by something that does not fit.
I find it excellent
for practising my meditation techniques, especially amidst the hustle
and bustle of family life. To be able to take a few minutes out, shut
off from the surrounding noise and engage in a little mini-retreat for
my soul is such a treat. It has been making a real difference, giving
me a rejuvenating bursts of "me time" , time to engage my spiritual
senses, time to let go.
