Visualizing and Sensing
"Your Element
What does this phrase mean to you ?
"I am in my Element"
Read it out loud first, notice what images you are receiving
than freely put your art materials down to play or let that pen wander
freely over the page, creating anything that comes to mind .
Give your element form,
shape, color, a personality
Picture your "Element",
Is it soft, smooth, rough, unruly?
Is it warm, cold, breezy ?
Ist it bright , dark, pastel or fiery red?
Is it accomodating, sticky to manouver through, smooth as peanut butter?

A circle of beaming toddler's
faces around a nighttime campfire in
their parents' arms, the colors of the blankets they are wrapped in
rich as velvet, the feel of magic in the air, the Milky Way adding
it's light...
A long-haired, leather-clad guitar god making love
to his guitar,
transmitting his fire to the crowd, awakening the kundalini with his
voice...
Translucent fairies giggling and laughing and racing
each other over
the highest mountain tops in the bright sun...
The pinks and rusts of the Badlands at sunset, the
ancient heartbeat
of the earth thudding up through the soles of my feet...
The force field of energy around me that dances me
whenever I let it...
My element is Fire.

is textured, sort of suede-like with small ripples, soft
to the touch with a look that is not perfect;
it is warm, emcompassing, enveloping, beckoning to touch
and feel, a tranquil peace about it;
the palest green, with dark shadows, reminiscent of a
sunlit forest of ferns; easy to move through as it caresses your legs
and feet, small yellow flowers fill the air with a sweet scent that is
intoxicating, inviting a nap in the dappled sun.
|
Warm bordering hot, smelling of
lavender, thick yet pliable.
I glide through my element, velvety smooth texture comforting my journey,
yet slowing me
down enough to drink in its beauty
My element is a riot of purple , black and piercing red - intriguing me
to explore,
dig deep and embrace myself wholly

My Element...surrounds
me in a soothing, gentle flow. It ripples steadily forward,
light and clear like clean water but with an infusion of blues and
purples. These gentle hints of color form ever-changing patterns. It is
warm and bright, with an occasional rush of refreshing chill. I drift
without effort, supported with ease, yet always moving onwards. I know I
can float endlessly or I can seek out currents and advance more rapidly.
I am safe.

A deep, central,
black pit with a jewelled pond gently lapping at the edges; trying to calm
the swirling, red hot passions that leap from the pit to veer off in many
directions, curling round to protect my hearts beloved.
Chaotic purple mists circling the outer edges of my passions, numbing them
slightly, whilst a protective, spiky layer of opalescent frost crystals
cools them before they enter the ether.
All of this is held together by a thin but tangled lavender cobweb, whilst
my star shines brightly over at the edge somewhere, waiting patiently for
me to find and follow it. |
Energy,
I have a sun that radiates warmth and love.
I have an atom with cycling electrons and neutrons because my thoughts are
always whirling, spinning out and trying to stay focused.
I have a spiral for knowledge that is never ending.

violent, powerful,
amazing and tumultuous, like a
gathering thunderstorm, the pounding surf and the rising sun. It is
energy and light; Sometimes reds; sometimes purples. Passionate;
Primordial; Awesome; Intense.
|
watery, warm, keeps me buoyant,
fluid, flowing through life. Gentle lapping sounds as I drift along, "going
with the flow." Occasional rapids that toss me about a bit. My life
works best when I let go and allow myself to be carried along, rather than
trying to control the direction and the speed at which I move through my
life.

immersed in warming flame...surrounded
by fire...warmth without being burned, with reds, oranges, yellows and blues...a
wonderful "soft and fuzzy" feeling... warm fuzzy blankets and
flickery soothing light
|
Floating in a rich, mysterious darkness pierced by the
cool light of stars, a cocoon of warm candlelight, swirled about with
fluid colors of pomegranate, coral, cream, and warm, pearlescent pink,
the color of the inside of a sea shell. Inside warm, outside cool. The
surface fiery but fluid.

earth, it is a slow process.
earth isfirm and supporting, steady and nourishing. it has time to be what
it wants to be and has the resources to help others to become what they
want to be. the earth is always there under our feet waiting for us to
ask for what we need.

Soft, smooth flannel sheets and
a warm blanket surround me
keeping me warm and safe as the wind blows the rain against my window.
Dark greens and wood tones surround me in my cabin to give me comfort.
As I dress to face the world, bright reds, blues and purples mix with
black to give me the confident mask that I wear.

My element is covered with velvety
moss, the scent of the forest floor, complete with trillium, surrounds me.
I am absolutely comfortable, there is no where else I want to go, there
is nothing I have to do except bask in the sun trickling through the foliage
to my little hiding spot. At my whim I can command the moss to turn into
a magic carpet ride, carrying me high above the clouds, close to the great
"unknown". I hear birds chirping softly in the background and
a woodpecker working for his food.....butterflies accompany me and together
we join the smoke of a few smoldering embers left from a pile of leaves.......
rising higher and higher, carrying prayers to heaven.

wind:
hair tossing winds carrying secret whispers from both future and
past experiences;
rushing over my body, into my nose throuigh each and every venous
branch in my body....
fire:
eye flashing intesity stoked from the deep core of
passions...fist=clenching love, eye scratching hatred...heart
scraped grief,and rebel-yelling strenght.
water:
rushing, roaring, spraying power that lifts, carries, washes and nourishes
all that lies in it's path.
earth.
the primary factor that is ME....deep and dark, pregnant with the
curling roots of my trees. ;my shifting sands in areas less stable and certain;
causing me to lose footing at times. solid, rocky and firm in the older
and wiser mountain ranges that gives courage to my backbone when it stoops
in defeat.reaching in to my self my hands come away full of loamy damp soil....
black with possiblities, pungent with experiences and fertile with lessons
to be learned.

The beauty of my element is its ability
to expand and contract.
This is so
beneficial when I feel exuberant
and searching.
I am able to absorb so much
of the environment. I can also retract into
an inconspicuous being to meditate.
My
element is soft blue with streaks of yellow
which become broader during my expansive
times. My element is soft and absorbent of
my body and soul. A wonderful cushion. I
also enjoy the light floral fragrance that is ever
present.
