The Wild Divine November 26th

Ohh I am offically in love, well as much as you can with an inanimate object.
"Journey to the Wild Divine" had caught my attention a few months back as it promised to offer a unique interactive experience with your home computer, enabling personal input to create a meditative state.

Well I was pretty skeptical not really sure how that was supposed to work... but curious as ever I had to try.

And I am majorly impressed. This system works on bio-feedback, meaning I actually connect a device to the computer that measures my responses and in turn I am able to manipulate the game.

I would not so much call it a game, rather than a complete sensory meditative experience.

Imagine you are sitting in front of your computer screen wearing headphones and a couple of blue measuring sensors attached to your fingers that read your impulses

On the screen is a beautiful temple with a golden gate, beckoning you to enter.

However you are only able to open the gate with your mind. You need to focus, to relax, to let go of all external influences and be CALM, totally calm and focussed. Only then will the gate open

Now this is not as easy as it sounds. Imagine me, sitting there getting calm and calmer, breathing slowly, focussing on my intention.
The gate is starting to inch its way forward , still I am calm , calmer - until I am starting to get aware of how calm I am , getting exited that I am getting calm (giggle) and swoosh your sensors read your exitement and suddenly I am not so calm anymore...

Through an inner relaxed state you move through the levels, engaging in spiritual awareness activities always maintaining a sense of calm awareness and intention.
The whole program appeals to all my senses, stunning visual graphics and really soothing , high quality sound effects are making it a complete experience. I am not irritated by something that does not fit.

I find it excellent for practising my meditation techniques, especially amidst the hustle and bustle of family life.
To be able to take a few minutes out, shut off from the surrounding noise and engage in a little mini-retreat for my soul is such a treat. It has been making a real difference, giving me a rejuvenating bursts of "me time" , time to engage my spiritual senses, time to let go.

Rainbow Moonstone November 2nd

"What is there in thee, Moon!
that thou shouldst move
My heart so potently?"

Keats' Endymion

Definition: Moon"stone`, n. (Min.) A nearly pellucid variety of feldspar, showing pearly or opaline reflections from within.

Reflections from within, reflecting the color of your soul, the whole spectrum of your inner colorful rainbow. I love the pearlescent mily , soft appearance which seems to vibrate a powerful energy.
The Moonstone Chakra is simply a beautiful piece of art, for me it is emitting its own unique pull once I looked upon it with close intent.

Moonstone's energies are soothing and nurturing and calming.

Moonstone's energies are feminine in nature, its subtle energies open and cleanse your heart, soothing and healing the mind, emotions, and body.

Moonstone is seen as a feminine influence, heightening intuition and psychic ability. It can also help balance the male and female aspects of yourself. In India, moonstone is sacred, said to bring good fortune and is highly valued as a tool to promote spiritual enlightenment.

Moonstone,a mysterious gem, captivating as a full moon gleaming in the night sky,a mesmerizing interplay of light causes a silvery-white sheen to glide like veils of mist across the milky surface of this gem. The flickering light is known to be the moving spirit that dwells within the gem.

In the hauntingly beautiful Rainbow Moonstone, the milky glow is flecked with lively sparks of red, orange, lavender, green and blue, which dance across the surface of the stone. It is said that its strong connection with the lunar movement makes the moonstone dim and regain color with the waning and waxing of the moon. Men often benefit from moonstone as it is said to help open their feminine or spiritual side. This stone is especially powerful for Women, the moon and its phases are closely related to a woman's menstrual cycle. With this gem is believed to enhance fertility and help soothing and calming menstrual problems.

Indian lore holds that moonstone arouses the passion of lovers. If placed beneath the tongue when the moon is full, a moonstone is said to reveal what is fate is awaiting a romance.

My favourite piece of

Moonstone Jewellery is in this collection, an ancient bracelet, so beautiful, I simply love it.

Spiritual Reading November 1st

What I am reading at the moment :

The Once and Future Goddess ,by Elinor W. Gadon
A Sweeping, Visual Chronicle of the Sacred Female and Her Reemergence in the Cultural Mythology of our Time

"Does the goddess have a place not only in our past but in our future?"

A question that is clear for me yet it is amazing to read about the historical Goddesses, their sacred ways, the connections of women throughout planet earth from Hungary to Malta, the similiarities despite great distances and the universal emergence of a new dawn for the goddess within; an inspiring read.

Quote: by Elinor W.Gadon (page 369)

"What was most sacred to me, was the miracle of the birth of my children, the mystery of life concieved and nurtured in my body, the ecstasy of my sexual relationship with their father -my mate, my companion, my dearestfriend and lover; and the wonder of my encounter with nature -climbing in hight places of this earth and the sky open wide before me and walking on the beach,my internal rhythms in tune with the ebb and flow of the waves, the cycles of creation. The truth of the goddess is the mystery of our being, dynamic lifeforce within."

I have just finished reading and immensly enjoying the amazing amount of graphical depictions and visuals of ancient goddesses in Marija Gimbutas

Gods and Goddesses of Old Europe
I truly connected to the a visual images of the goddesses of old memories of the sacred feminine ringing true, artful depictions from so many thousands of years ago, fascinating studies of bee and bird goddesses and their insectlike iconic drawings. Loved it.

Marjia Gimbutas spend a lot of years of her life studying the ancient goddesses, you can read an interview about her motivations and findings here - Learning the language of the goddess

The Birth of a new Spirit

The miracle of a birth, of conception never really leaves me.
Just looking at my daughter and seeing her tiny little hair growing in the base of her neck makes me think : "I made that", to watch her dancing away in a little tutu, stretching on her toes and twizzeling in sheer the delight makes me think " I made her", just little mini miracles occuring to me everyday. This reminded me of the time when I was pregnant and my awareness trying to connect with that newly conceived life within me.

I have written an Audio Visual Poem "AWARE" for other pregnant mums to enjoy. Its a form of guided visualisation to relax you and enable you to feel the stirrings of a new soul inside you.Enjoy and let me know what you thought.

Perceptions

I continue to be amazed by how differently people see the world, how unlike responses are given the same stimuli and how confused communication gets when you say red and I see burgundy.
Especially when using e-mail , communication becomes an artform in itself. I cannot see who I am talking too, I cannot feel the mood, I cannot judge and way up with my senses. I have to rely on visual words, creating a picture, a feeling that may convey what I am thinking.

In one of the groups I enjoy, Artella, ,a woman posted a message that went like this :

WOMAN:

I don't know about the rest of you, but as i stand on the curb watching the parade, i often miss the tiny little gifts strolling past my line of vision because i'm craning my neck, trying to see down the street, around the corner, to spot the biggest band, the most flamboyant float, or the biggest balloon..... so i try to remember:
MAKE EYE CONTACT with the tiny float strolling by.
they are usually the ones that throw candy.................

Now here was a communication I enjoyed. I read it,I had a picture emerging in my mind, and I replied:

LILA*

Oh well my day is shaping up beautifully, thanks for giving me a little visual along the way ..

I am imagining a huge carnival parade colours everywhere, confetti making me sneeze ...
I imagine you standing on tippy toes, "craning your neck", hardly containing your exitement, then just spontaneously asking the handsome man next to you , whether he would be so kind to lift you on his shoulder ,just for a tiny moment, so you could get a glimpse of the far away glory.... yet he simply looks at you , smiles and you see a thousand familar sparkles in his eyes...

Now I did not know the woman I communicated with, never met her, probably never will. Yet somehow words struck a cord, made me smile, made me want to respond. When Women connect, when Women's spiritualities connect magic moments happen.

for they are

I try and hold on to these little moments, for they are the CANDY.

Women,

womens spiritualities

I find myself in an emotional situation and all I can think of is talking to another woman.

what makes the voice of another woman ring true? What makes vibrations of feminine energy connect, to trust to comfort? I am constantly amazed at how our subconcious guides us to what we need to hear or feel or experience most at any given time.

My husband had been taken to hospital and I was feeling increasingly anxious. An e-mail in my inbox reminded me about cloud scrying something I find comforting between endless hours of waiting for news. It helps me to channel and focus and again Rescue Remedy was my constant companion. That stuff should be in every womans handbag.

But when it was nightime, and I was alone, babe in bed , husband in hospital thats when it struck... only another womans comfort would do, somebody who would just listen and make me feel better... so I picked up the phone to a girlfriend and everything was instantly brighter.

It seems to be a red thread through my life , that connecting with woman, creating space for woman to connect and acknowledging feminine bonds is what I am driven to do at this moment in time.

I am grateful for knowing that.

A Random Act of Kindness

I remembered something today, that I had forgotten for a while. A woman I know came to visit our house one day. Something happened that made me feel kind of emotionallly queasy ,but I can remember what. She openend her handbag , got out a box which contained about 12 little bottles. She picked one handed it to me and said "Take a few drops on the tongue" and this stuff worked instantly, brightened my mood within seconds. It was Rescue Remedy. This woman always carries a box of bottles for situations just like that. She shares them freely, passes along old knowledge from generation to generation.

I was in hospital today and overheard a conversation in the next bed where the woman complained about feeling very shaky, nervous and emotional and I longed for a box of my own bottles, to pass knowledge to share what I believe in. When we no longer have a tribe , a large family unit, a tight community then maybe its time to stretch our arms out wider and look in places where we may not be invited but may be guided too. womens spiritualities

A Living Goddess
A nepalese living goddess , chosen at about 3 or 4 years old, from the clan which buddha belonged to ,makes a rare outside visit. Feelings in myself are all mixed up, the thought of a young girl prevented to see the outside world seems very at odds with natural living. The discarding of the goddess once she reaches menstruation seems also a turning point. Although I have since learned that any kind of major bleeding is seen as the goddess spirit leaving the body. Tradition in various religions and spiritualities always evoke strong emotions, meant to guide me, to learn , to find my own place in the spiral of life.

Have you ever wondered what memories your brain stores and in what way it chooses to allow you to access them?

I am often amazed at how much I forget, knowledge seemingly dissappears from my conciousness yet I do have the feeling they exist, recollections that I ought to be able to remember... at free will, at any time.

How much do we really know about how our brain functions? How much of it is real? What does "real" mean anyway?

Maybe its time to send myself little "nostalic reminders" , post a little note to my brain to remember, jog its recovery file into action.

Journaling is a kind of inner postal system for me, describing womens spiritualities events that mattered, that shaped the day, that made me stop and share, that allowed me to grow spiritually and with great joy.

My journals shine a little light brightly into the dark folds of my brains secret memory maze

Ever wondered what the day would hold? If only you could peek into the future? I am quite fascinated by the thought that planetary movements can influence my wellbeing on a particular day. It makes me feel like I am part of a bigger picture. Watching babe changing when full moon approaches makes it a very powerful reality, here is a little child, totally unaware, yet experiencing strong celestial influences that are often soo difficult to fathom. The Art of Astrology is gaining popularity, fascinating insights can be gained by studying horoscope dailys, womens spiritualities center around natural influences of the moon.. I definetly feel a pull towards gaining more knowledge in that direction.

Puja, I have often heard that word yet have not been quite sure what it means. I knew Buddhist monks had them, but not sure whether it was a form of meditation or prayer. Today I got to chance to partake in a puja and learn more about it.

Puja is a ceremony in which prayers are offered to the Buddhas to request their blessings or invoke their help. Pujas are performed to avert or clear three types of obstacles, conditions which prevent us from achieving our worldly or spiritual goals.

* worldly obstacles - daily life, relationships, finances

* inner obstacles - health and mental state

* secret obstacles - obstruction attainment of innate wisdom

The ceremony started with some deep voice chanting and moved on for about 1 hour through various tibetan chants with accompanying musical instruments. Powerful energies were created by the unison of sound that the monks emmitted, voices that carried me deep inside myself. We were invited to meditate to the sound of the monks chanting and it was quite amazing how my body followed the rhythm even though I was completely unfamiliar with the system.

One of the monks handed out vajras

This is a spiritualities awareness tool which felt amazingly powerful in my hand. I was reluctant to hand it back at the nd of the Puja as I felt very drawn to its energy.

Each Vajra is handcrafted by Western Monks, the designs are all based on natural Geometric Forms like the tetrahedron, Octahedron, Dodecahedron, Icosahedron, Star-tetrahedron, the 51% Pyramid and the Circle>

The Vajra combined with the Soul Therapy Music provided creates a true healing and sacred space for Meditation and Self healing that also Heals the Planet Geomancy

for more information on vajras and the tibetan foundation click here

For me , to partake in a group meditation/prayer was again a powerful experience. Somehow energies are always manifold, there is strenght in numbers and the calmness and serenity these monks were emitting brings me right back to my own center. Just watching their purposeful manner, kind and gently articulation, yet determined stance is a joy and priviledge to witness. Spiritualities carry many names yet once again ,unity can be found when given a chance.

A smile. Unexpected. In the middle of a dull day a stranger shares a smile. How does it make you feel?

I walk about town, deep in thought, pondering some idea or thinking through a concept. I am often so wrapped up, that suddenly I catch myself, aware of being unaware and then I stop. Consciously . And then I experiment... I smile broadly at the next person approaching... try it , its quite liberating, especially if its an 18 year old teenager wondering whether you still have all your marbles...giggle.

But more often or not a smile is being given back and it makes me feel wonderful, a little ray of spirit light connecting, often hesitant, just the faintest awakening of a smile..but it is there, and it has been let out, ready to grow, to multiply...

Today it was a little old lady who caught my smile and her eyes told me a story. First disbelief, second wondering whether she knows me, then a deep smile feeling just kindness. Give a smile, make the day a little brighter and watch how it makes you feel amazingly alive.

The rain is pounding down, relentlessly flooding everything in it wake. I am truly fascinated by earth powers, unforgiving, what has to be has to be. Where is the bigger picture, what is the meaning ... rain , raindrops uncountable, meanings immeasurable.

raindrops glistening

floods of hopes

soaking in possibilities

I have been enjoying little bursts of creativity after taking a course in "Haikus" a kind of poem with rules attached to it... but then I have never been one for rules but enjoy the concept of spontaneously writing down 3 liner haikus, thoughts appearing randomly. Their potency often astounding... no time to think about them just set them free...

enjoying tasting raindrops on my tongue.. splashing with babe in deep puddles, thank goddess for potholes :-)

The smell of vanilla is slowly soaking up the entire room. I love being immersed in this beautiful scent and watch the candle on my kitchen shrine is burning away steadily. Candle Magics are my favourite way to start the day. It has become a little daily ritual to light a candle, center myself, greet my spirit and wish myself a happy day.

I have been pondering the "act of kindness". Everything seems to move so fast these days. E-mail has almost completely taken over even phonecalls in our household. So quick to just send a mail. But I thought , it is quick so why not send some randome greetings, just to say thanks for a nice afternoon to a girlfriend, thinking about you to someone you have not managed to see for a while. Put a little happiness into their mail box.
I have a girlfriend, who moved away just when I had my babe, so we have sort of lost close touch ,but when we do see each other it's just like time stood still.

The same deep warmth and familiarity,
me making a cup of tea in her kitchen, whilst the dog is barking in the garden and the kids are playing on the swing.
Life is beautiful when its simple. Got inspired looking at these e-cards, not your run of the mill ones, beautifully illustrated sentiments, so will send her a lovely reminder that I am thinking of her.

Kindness, a simple word yet releases such powerful emotions in its wake. A random act of kindness can lift you up and carry you right up into the light.

People will forget what you said
People will forget what you did,
but people will never forget
how you made them feel.

Bonnie Jean Wasmund

We were out shopping, babe and me, at this beautiful old-fashined little market. Aromas were everywhere ,seeping out of hidden corners, rich varieties of exotic foods tantalising my nostrils. The market was just closing for the day and we were about to make our way home, when out of the corner we saw a woman , struggling with 2 huge wooden caskets of homemade olives. The oil was dripping out of the sides as she could barely hang on to the pot. I put down my bag, grabbed a casket and entered the womans eyes. The look of relief, yet utter disbelief was quite astounding. I carried the pot over to her van, stacked it neatly and went to collect my bag. I could feel the womans weight, not just the physical one , had been lifted, yet she barely managed to say thank you. I could feel her pondering the likelihood .
Somehow it made me feel sad, that these little random acts of kindness seem to become so unsuspected, almost too good to be true.

Making a mental note to actively look for opportunities to spread a little kindness.

Reading a new book at the moment
,"Grow" The Modern Woman's Handbook",

by an english woman called Lynne Franks. I love reading personal spiritual stories, somehow it always makes it a friendly experience like sitting over a cup of tea with a girlfriend, pondering life. This one is really beautifully illustrated to, I am such a visual learner and connect to original Art Inspirationals To quote a passage from "Celebrating the Sacred Feminine"

Do ancient memories stir when I look up and see the full moon?
Do I feel echoes of sacred gatherings when I get together with female friends?
When the wind blows through my hair, do I kick off my shoes and spiral into a dance of joy?

Ohh , a woman after my own heart, check out my other favourities in Spiritualities Books . Off to soak in lavender oil and candle light
